Baby names ending in “iyah” screamed up the chart in 2010! Maliyah, Taliyah, Janiyah, Saniah, Kaliyah, Laniyah, Amiyah and Ariah all made upward progress, so keep your “iyahs” peeled for them to figure prominently on the chart in 2011.

Mama Mia!
Italian names are on the rise and were at the top of the baby names chart in 2010! In addition to Sophia, the #2 name of the year, these Italian beauties also made the list: Gia, Gianna, Valentina, Giuliana, Giada and Paloma.

Girly Girls & Cowboys
Girly names and cowboy baby names are boot scootin’ up the list in 2010! Arabella, Annabella, Anastasia, Vivienne, Valentina, Aurora and Juliette all made leaps, while Waylon, Colt, Gunner, Brooks, Ryder, Walker, Weston and Easton displayed their cowboy charm and joined them!

First Name Firsts!
Tenley broke into the top 1000, for the first time ever, at #458 and was joined by these other first timers: Crew, Channing, Tatum, Kyron, Xavi, Bentlee, Bodhi, Theo, Leighton, Legend, Kingsley, Journee, Zuri and Violeta.

Holy Hipster!
Hipsters were well represented in the 2010 baby name charts with nicknames and noun names like Sincere, Darwin, Dixie, Winston, Maxim, Ace and Sonny.

O Baby!
It’s like baby name tic-tac-toe: last year the Xs ruled, while this year, Os are coming out on top! Check out: Odin, Orion, Omar, Olive and Harlow, Theo, Milo, Enzo, Hugo, Bruno, Nico and Noe!

Nifty 50s!
