It’s the moment we’ve waited for all year: The Social Security Administration has released the hottest baby names of 2013! Has Mason finally eeked out Jacob (the top boy’s name for the last 14 years!)? Is Sophia still the country’s favorite girl’s name? We were right on with our predictions, what do you think?

Jayceon & Daleyza
The trendiest names this year owe their fame to rappers and a Spanish-language reality TV show! Jayceon—shared by two hip-hop artists, Jayceon and “The Game”– jumped 845 spots, to #206, while Daleyza–daughter of singer Larry Hernandez, star of Larrymainia—moved up a whopping 3,130 spots, to #585.

New to the Top 100
Want to know what’s going to be on the top ten in the next 5 years? Just consult those names that are new to the Top 100 in 2013! Girls’ names that made their Top 100 debut (or in some cases, re-entry) are Sadie, Penelope, Mila, Nora, Paisley, Nicole, and Ruby. Cracking the top 100 for the first time for boys are popular celeb choices  Camden, Lincoln, and Jaxson.

Vintage Stunners
Among the highest climbing names in 2013 are those that recall yesteryear. Marjorie had the second biggest jump upward for the girls, rising 735 places to #910. Mabel and Gwyneth also made significant leaps, as did retro cool Harlan, Duke, Anson, Enoch and Thiago for boys.

Faraway Places
Several uncommon “place” names made it to the top 1000 for the very first time: India, Ireland, on the girls’ side and Milan, Castiel, and Forrest on the boys’.  Atlas and Jurnee also made the move!
