I agree they work well together!

I should add, I don’t agree with her movie ticket example, under-paying adults or experienced sitters, or paying well under minimum wage. I personally am OK with paying $5-6/hr for a middle school mother’s helper to play with my kids while I’m in the next room, and the ones I hired were happy with that. I do think sometimes the cost of sitting gets driven up, especially when we’re talking relatively inexperienced teens.
I also think I should have charged more when I was in HS. ;)

    At this length, straighten.

Would you rather stay up past midnight or wake up before 6?

@yellowwatts, I know an 8th-grader who has it in his lunch EVERY day. :)

We are the first stop on the route both ways, which would mean an extra early morning but a brief afternoon ride … so I am planning to drop them off at school in the mornings and just have them ride the bus home in the afternoons.

If they rode the bus both ways, My boys would get picked up at 7:10 a.m. Not sure what time the bus arrives at school but classes start at 8:00. Coming home, school ends at 2:50, the bus doesn’t actually leave the school until 3:15 and they get dropped off at 3:23. :) So total they would spend 45-50 mins/day on the bus if they rode it both ways.

Today I came across a little girl named Lotus. Not a big fan.

    Ooh, Isolde is pretty!
I don’t get the appeal of Brooklyn … or Paris … for human names.

Today I met a sibset named Juliana, Celeste and Colson.

Oh and I missed Jester earlier. Wow …

And @yellowwatts, those are definitely some interesting spellings! Is the latter a cre8ive spelling for Zachariah??

False, but it does feel a little “off.”

That’s a good point, @gaamy! With my boys’ list, for some reason I assumed it’s mostly communal (they recommend a certain brand of each thing) but I don’t know for sure.

@gaamy, that’s great to know! That does make things a lot easier b/c he loves things like grilled chicken.

@embra thanks for the ideas. Alex is allergic to tree nuts, though almonds are one he is tested safe from. I’m worried I might confuse his teachers though so we’ll probably just do no tree nuts for him. I wish he liked cold cuts! He’s eaten them in lunchables once or twice but generally shuns them, and he no longer likes PB (or similar products). Will eats several kinds of sandwiches so he’s easy. :)

Neither. ;) I guess Star Wars?

The Chronicles of Narnia or Lord of the Rings?

Me, too! Especially with twins. I couldn’t even take them to the park by myself when they were toddlers (at the time we didn’t have any fenced-in toddler-friendly playgrounds near us). So now that they *can* play on their own and I can sit and chat with a friend or read or whatever? Brilliant. :) I still keep an eye on them but I agree they don’t need our attention every second. I don’t think that’s good for any of us so I don’t appreciate the “Oh but these days go by so fast, you’re missing out” guilt trips!

lol at the Jenga comparison. :) We have done “practice school lunches” a couple times (to make sure they can open all the containers since one has a fine motor delay) and I think that is an apt comparison!

We have the Thermos Funtainer water bottles that seem the most leakproof of our options. I was wary to put them on their sides but they would probably be fine.

The Krustbuster looks awesome! I might have to get one. :)
