Worried about diet!

Hello there! Newbie here! I am only a little over 5 weeks along, and I’ve already got the dog nose going on! You know, when you’re able to smell every little thing? It’s so bad, that I can rarely eat! I’m super worried about my diet (and the baby’s!) and that I won’t be getting enough nutrients…I do plan on seeing a doctor very, very soon (I haven’t yet, since I just figured out I was pregnant! :)) But I just wanted some advice from you fellow mama’s!
    Thanks so much!!

    Peace & Love,
    Heather

Congratulations and welcome to the board!

I think in the first tri, you pretty much need to eat what you can stomach. It might get a little unbalanced at times but I think (theoretically, at least) your body will tend to crave what you’re lacking, and taking a good prenatal vitamin will help fill in the gaps until you’re able to handle a more balanced diet again.

Hey thanks, TwoSapphires! That makes total sense, I’ve got my prenatal vitamins already going, so I’m sure things will lighten up after the first few weeks, hopefully!

    p.s,
I love the name! Are your kids a libra? (I am!)

I’m just nearing the end of my first trimester and eating was definitely a challenge. At 12 weeks, I’m starting to feel much much better. Thankfully, baby is so tiny at first that he/she needs very little to thrive. As TwoSapphires mentioned, just eat what you can manage for now and continue to take your vitamins. Congrats and good luck!

I don’t have too much more to add than the other ladies have said – but wanted to add “Congrats!”

hgeorge, no, my boys were born in January. The “twosapphires” is after the two sapphires in my original engagement ring (pictured in my avatar), and in a gift I got from a very dear friend, and I do now have two little sapphire-eyed boys. :)

Well the situation your are already through is just like mine, i also underwent through the same vomiting or super sensitive tendency, whereby i ate less, which further added on my weakness. That is why i insist you not to stop your eating habit, try to consume on more liquid diet, which can truly be helpful in the long run.
