We have about 6 weeks until we find out the gender, so we’re still thinking about both boys’ and girls’ names. Which is your favorite for each gender? If it matters, our last name is 2 syllables, Spanish and starts with R. Our son’s name is Ethan Xavier.

    Leo Alexander
    Leo Dominic
    Leo Gabriel
    Leo James
    Leo Emerson
    Leo Julian

    Claire Amelia
    Claire Sophia
    Claire Juliana
    Claire Juliet
    Claire Eleanor

Oh man, I love almost all of your names! Really, you probably can’t go wrong with any of them, though I think a lot depends on the actual sound of your last name with them, too.

I think for boys I’d lean toward Leo Alexander, or maybe Leo Dominic.
I love Gabriel, James, and Julian, too, but I don’t think they sound quite as good with Leo. Leo Julian’s not bad, but I think Alexander or Dominic flow a lot better.

For girls, I like Claire Sophia.
I really like all the name options, but Amelia sort of runs into Claire, sounding more like Clara Melia, and Eleanor has a similar problem with all the vowels. Juliet and Juliana are both great names, but they feel a little choppy with Claire.

ummmm….all of them!?!? Seriously, they are all great. If I HAVE to choose, I will go with Leo Alexander (with Leo Emerson and very close second) and Claire Sophia.

Thanks for the responses. I’ve axed middle names that I thought clashed with our last name, so I don’t think that should be an issue. We’re still not 100% on the girl’s first name, but everyone seems to think this one will be a girl, including Ethan. Hopefully, we’ll figure it out before baby arrives :)

I love Leo and Claire with Ethan’s name! Leo Dominic or Leo Julian is my favorite Leo combo (probably Leo Dominic!), and I like Claire Eleanor for Claire. I actually like all your Claire combos, except for Sophia. For some reason, I don’t really like Claire and Sophie variants together? I couldn’t tell you why. Except for just Sophie Claire, lol.

    Good luck!

I don’t know that I can choose a favorite. You really can’t go wrong with those options. Good luck deciding! I don’t know how you’re going to do it! You have a great selection of names.

For what it’s worth, my favorites are: Leo Alexander, Leo Dominic, Claire Juliet, and Claire Amelia.

Thank you! I’m glad you all like so many of the names, but this isn’t helping me narrow things down :p So many choices. I should find out the gender on May 21st. At least then we should be able to cut the name choices in half (assuming baby cooperates).

Leo Alexander and Claire Juliet. <3

Runners up would be Leo Gabriel (this is actually on par with Leo Alexander, love it!) and Claire Sophia.

Leo Dominic followed very closely by Leo Alexander. My least favorite are Leo Julian and Leo Emerson.

Claire Juliana followed by Claire Eleanor. My least favorite would be Claire Amelia (I love Amelia on its own just not as a mn for Claire.)

Haha yes, narrowing down can be the hard part. :)
I was just about to ask how far along you are now and then saw you get to find out the sex on May 21. So exciting! So are you … 14-16w now?

I am starting to feel a lot better. Thanks for asking. When I hit week 12, most of my nausea and food aversions were suddenly gone. I’m still having mild nausea, but it’s nothing compared to what it what. It’s nice to be able to eat and cook again!
