The strangest name you've ever heard

I’ve heard a LOT of strange ones over the years, but some are weirder than most. One of the oddest names I ever heard was a little girl named Jealousy Rage. Who does that?

What are some of the strangest choices that you’ve heard?

Heard that one from a Labor/Delivery nurse. I guess they heard the name around the hospital and liked it?

My husbands grandfather and great grandfather were both D.L. No actual names, just initials, which I think is kind of sad.

My middle name is Shirie but it is not that strange. My sister’s name is Abrey and her daughter’s name is Aariah. My nephew’s names are Kyon and Kemarea. My 14 brother names is Octavian.

I have worked in after school programs and summer camps and come across very unique names such as:

    Melis
    Timberlake (girl)
    Che`(boy)

    Taland
    Anastasia

Bob. I think this is such a weird name. If you really think about it, Bob is really strange. I’m sure I sound a bit nutty but I grew up with 4 Bob’s. No nicknames or shortened version of Robert. Just Bob.
Am I off my rocker for feeling like this about such a simple name?

My newborn niece’s name is Inez — not that it’s a strange name, but kind of strange in today’s world.
There’s a child at the elementary school where I work named Listat and another named Unique. Really?!
I also know a Beaudry (bo-dree). I actually kind of think it’s cute, but I had never heard it before.

I feel bad for the children whose teachers cannot even pronounce their first names. It is important to them and normal where they grew up/were born/where their parents grew up. I understand that it is hard to pronounce in some languages, such as in English, and that nick names are sometimes needed to be encouraged. Still, Dodo? Wasn’t there anything else that a teacher could have tried?

Anyways, I went to school with a boy named Ben Dover. Seriously, his parents, although I never met them, are cruel people. They must have seen the impending, stale joke surrounded his name. He had a sister named Ilene, so either there is a remarkable coincidence and his parents are oblivious or they planned this.

But the strangest name I have ever heard comes from a friend who works in a hospital.

    La- (Pronounce “La Dash”)

Lennon, on a girl… Meh. And the last name is Vernon, Lennon Vernon.. I don’t like the repetitiveness.
