My cousin and his wife have decided on a name for their baby boy who is due in May: Raleigh Forrest. What do you think of their choice?

Honestly, I clicked the thread thinking Raleigh would be a girls name. the -leigh ending is so common on girls names when their parents want to have a less common spelling – like Ashleigh or Kyleigh or something. So I’m kind of surprised it’s on a boy. But it does actually sound pretty good with Forrest. I could see it working. Raleigh’s a pretty neat name on it’s own, and it’s not really inherently girly. Just different.

I thought it would be a girl, too, but honestly I like it! It’s refreshing, and so much better than some of the names I’ve heard lately. Not to mention being multitudes better/more interesting than the Aiden/Jayden/Braiden/Kaden/Raiden (yes, I DID see that one), massacre. Final thought — Love. :)

I immediately thought girl too. Riley would be more boy to me and if it was spelled that way I’d like it. Not a fan of Forrest.

I assumed boy name. I think of Raleigh-Durham, NC, and Forrest Gump. To me the FN/MN combo sounds very Southern. It’s NMS but not bad.

Yes very southern and different. Not bad if they are trying to be different, although NMS either.
