So our choices are down to Anniston Rose and Eleanor Grace.
I wanted some outside opinions before we tell our family the name. Also we’re still open to suggestions, our preference through is three syllable names that can be shortened to two syllable nicknames. For example Anniston to Annie and Eleanor to Ellie.

Oh, wow, Anniston and Eleanor are sososo different! Are you planning on having more children? I’m just wondering what other names you really love, to see which would be your style in the long run, really. I vastly prefer Annie as a nn, but I vastly prefer Eleanor as for the full name, and I like Eleanor Grace much more than Anniston Rose for a combo. I like the versatility of Eleanor and its various lovely nns, too–Ella, Leni, Nell(y), Nora, Lena (my favorite! Followed by Ella…), Lea, Elea, etc. I even think you could get Annie from Eleanor, because of the “an” in the middle. :) Eleanor Grace is everything stylish and sweet and charming, but I just find Anniston really tacky and trendy and I think it’ll date pretty fast. Then again, I don’t really get the whole naming-after-a-celebrity thing (I also don’t get Dempsey, Winslet, Jolie, etc. I sort of see Winslet’s appeal–it just seems really magical, and I love the nns Winnie and Lettie!–but I would never use it…)

    Good luck!

Eleanor Grace. No contest here. Eleanor is classic, gorgeous, has variety of nickname options, is decidedly feminine. . . I could go on for ages. Anniston is none of these things.

I love Anniston! Of course you are going to get the Jennifer Anniston affiliation, but I don’t think that’s such a bad thing, and by the time she is in school it won’t even matter. Love it :) Personally Eleanor is a little dated to me. Other suggestions are:

    Madelynn- Maddie
    Emmalynn- Emmy
    Olivia- Livi
    Amelia- Mia
    Eliana- Eli
    Penelope- Penny or Poppie
    Evangeline- Eva
    Delilah- Lilah
    Alexandra- Lexi
