haha. I won’t tell her parents that. But it’s pronounced like Ray or Rae not Ree-a.

My brother-in-law’s wife just had a girl named Loremy. My best friend gave birth today to a boy named Davien.

I had a Guinevere in a Sunday school class I taught recently. She was about 4.

    I’m really not fond of many/any D names and I really don’t like Davien… :/

I was watching A Baby Story today and the couple had two sons Sebastian and Julian and added daughter Natasha. I really like the boys names I don’t like the girl’s but I think it’s because of associations with the name.

Little kids I’ve come across today:

    Kinsley
Emma (x2. I love Emma, but I’m starting to see the whole “Emma’s so overdone!” thing! I only ever would have used it for a middle, anyway. :) Or as a nn for Emmeline…)
    Sofia
    Mackenzie
    McKenna
Genayah (sp? I only heard it. jeh-NYE-ah)

    All girls.

I also was at a special programme for my sister’s senior class at her school this week, and they had all the names of the students printed on the bulletin. Some of the more interesting ones:

    Anecia (ah-NEE-see-ah)
Crisella (LOVE THIS SO MUCH! Maybe it’s because it reminds me of Ariella, which I’m adoring right now, or maybe it’s just because she was little-baby-doll adorable. I don’t know. But I’m really loving it!)
    Sebastian
Dehk0ntee (but she went exclusively by Grace?! I think Grace is lovely, but Dehk0ntee?)
Celica (think Celeste and Jessica smooshed together. SEL-ih-kah)
Fayth (I just find the spelling interesting. I know more Faiths who have their name misspelled than actually spelled like the word. Faith, Fayth, Faythe…)
George (I was just happy to see a teenager named George, haha!)
    Zachariah
    Shyna (SHY-nah? I guess?
    Lawrence
John-Andrew (he’s from Bermuda! I just love double-barrels with John. John-Andrew is pretty cool. :))
    Angelique
    Markia

Also interesting to note: there were two Asias (one spelled Asya), two Jamies (one of each gender), and two Adriana/Adriannas (one with each spelling). I didn’t know any of those were that popular…

Crisella, Sebastian, and John-Andrew were my favorites. :) Besides, of course, my sister’s name: Natalie “Tallie”. :)

@yellowwatts – haha! A couple months ago my laptop screen cracked. I go back and forth with being able to get online–it’s really quite frustrating to do it on my iPod. I had my parents’ computer all to myself a couple hours tonight, so I was actually on. :) I don’t expect it to become a habit, though. There’s seven of us in the house–and most of us share my parents’ computer. Online time is pretty limited these days, haha.

I was catching up on TV the past day or so, and I found it ironic that there are new babies in two of my favorite shows! There’s a Mackenzie (boy) in Covert Affairs (surname Campbell), and a Joan (girl) in Hawaii Five-0 (surname McGarrett, I think). Both struck me as interesting. I like Mackenzie more than Joan, but I liked the reasoning behind Joan (I would have much preferred to see Jane or Johanna instead, though!).

Also, I’ve heard at work lately:

Daisy (I have only ever met Hispanic Daisys… is this a Pennsylvania thing? Does anybody know anyone with the name that isn’t Hispanic? I’m just curious. :))
    Annie
    Alice
    Henry
    Charlie
    Jack

ashthedreamer – I’ve only ever met one Daisy, a cute little old woman and definitely not Hispanic. I come from an area with a pretty significant Hispanic population, maybe it is a PA thing? Or a north-east thing?

One of my professors’ wife had a baby a few days ago, his name is Frederick! Prof said when he was born, he “just looked like a Fred.” I’m pretty sure they have a son named Benjamin, too.

And, met a girl named Randee a few months ago and forgot about her until a friend mentioned her again. I honestly had forgotten that she was a girl, though; when he said Randee I figured it was one of our school officials or something. It’s kind of an outdated boy’s name to me.

Hmm. Maybe it is one of those things for my county, haha! Not unlike how I’ve met TWENTY-STINKIN-FIVE Elijahs in my county, as well!

Some names I heard today, some at work, some not:

Kali (no clue if this is Callie or Kaylee?)
    Kira
Diana (I stinkin’ must have met five women named Diana today! I knew it was popular, but that popular?!)
    Nathaniel “Nathan”

There was another girls’ name, but I can’t remember it. Hmm.

Met an Amity the other day. My friend immediately pointed out that apparently that word is a place/faction/thing in the Divergent book/movie series (I haven’t read it, I don’t know what Amity is in that), and I had to inform her that it is also a word and a name. She thought it sounded made-up.

I heard a mom on the sidelines of the soccer field calling her young son. His name was Cabot Andrew. I thought it sounded very nice when she said it.

I’ve also heard Cannon (Boy), Hadley (Girl), Shasta (Girl), Paisley (Girl), Payson (Girl but could be either I think), Kinleigh (Girl).

OH! I also saw two sisters on television named Charlotte and Georgina. Their nicknames were Charlie and Georgie. They were really cute little girls!

Charlotte and Georgina “Charlie and Georgie” are so cute! I like Georgiana more than Georgina, but still, so lovely. Very Austen-ian, too. :)

    Some names I’ve heard lately:

Ben and Jane (siblings. I assume Ben was Benjamin? Still, Benjamin and Jane are pretty cute.)
    Nola
Angelica and Aidan (little Aidan–eep! Only two weeks old!–was dedicated at my church today. We don’t do baby baptisms, but we do dedicate our children to God and have a little prayer and ceremony and such. They don’t regularly attend, but little Angelica goes to our church school. And och, such a sweet little lady! She’s so adorable. Like a little princess.)

I have a Maisie in my class, but she pronounces it like Macy. I think she must always be correcting people from saying it with a z sound.

I was browsing through the “People you may know” on my Facebook (putting off doing any real work) and found some unusual ones! Some of these I’ve probably posted in the past, since they’re mostly people I DO know but don’t want to be friends with, but new forum, new people, don’t care.

    Tate (male)
    Priscilla
    Lorena
    Jaycee (female)

    Alina
    Monsieree (female, prn. mon-SEH-REE)
    Shylah

    Efua (female)
