There are 3 different Scarlett’s in my daughter’s (fairly small) school. I also know of 3 Olives.

After Busy Phillips named her daughter Cricket, it totally made me want another baby just so I could use that name! It’s so cute.

Wasn’t there a Cricket on The Young and the Restless a long time ago?

Yes! Cricket Blair was married to Danny Romalotti! He was supposed to be a “rock star”. Played by Michael Damian.

Cricket’s real name was Christine. It makes for a nice nickname for Christine or Christina.

I was surprised to hear another Soren at my son’s school. A few other names I’ve seen/heard at school are Kalina, Massimo and Naomi.

Siblings named Stella, George and Emerson (George and Emerson are twins). I thought that was an interesting combo.

A baby boy named Tucker. I’ve seen name polls about it but hadn’t met one IRL.

Nooo! I was totally going to be the one to start this thread on the new site. :( Ah, well. :)

    Today I heard:

    Nadia
    Lewis
    Camellia
    Felicia

I like most of them. I like Felicity much more than Felicia, but they’re all nice names.

Met the cutest little Piper today. And my roommate’s been crazy about the name Paisley since she met one a few weeks ago.

    Today at work, I heard:

    Giselle
    Jack (x2)
Rankie (a girl. Struck me as such an odd name!)
Francisca (prefer Francesca, but it’s still lovely)
    Kira
    Hannah
    Maggie
    George
    Galen (och, LOVE Galen!)

And there was another really cool one I’m totally forgetting! :/

Thought of another one from work today: Cyrena! I love Serena, but I’ve never come across Cyrena before. I’m not sure if I like it or hate it. It sort of seems like a smoosh of Cyrus and Serena (both of which I adore on their own!).

    Giselle is so pretty!
I feel like you do about Cyrena. ;)

Heard a mom calling her son Jasper while out shopping today. I have a friend named Jasper, and people always comment on how unusual his name is and how no one seems to be named that, so I was surprised to hear it.

My daughter’s name is Bryn and I’m starting to hear that some! And we are expecting our 4th and considering Lyla (maybe Lila…sp?) and that is not too common either. There is a girl in my son’s kindergarten class names Ila, also spelled Isla (which rhymes with our name choice Lyla) and I love that. There is also a boy Theron in his class. As of recently, I know two baby boys named Knox. I’m starting to hear lots of ‘new’ names! I’m still open to other ideas for our baby girl, so I’ll be checking back in on this thread. :)

Someone I saw on Facebook’s son is named Tavian.
I can’t see it without thinking it should be Octavian…

Names I’ve heard at work recently:

Safiyya (sp? I think it was this, though. I think it’s a Persian or Arabic name, but I find it surprisingly usable, thanks to Sofia’s/Sophia’s popularity. I think it’s said like SAHF-(ee)-yah?)

    Grant (LOVE THIS!)

Frode (hahahaha, I don’t know if this is for real or not, but this same guy keeps coming into work–I don’t know if it’s just the name he put on his MyPanera card, or if it’s for real, or if he just keeps telling them to put Frode in when they ask for a name. I think it’s pretty cool, though. :))

Also, found out the names of the children of some more of my coworkers–Adalea Jadyn (add-ah-LEE-ah Jayden), and Lydia. LOVE Lydia, and Adalea intrigues me. I like Adelia (ah-DEEL-ee-ah) much more, but that little girl is so stinkin adorable. :)
