Name my fetus :)

For real, y’all. Just if you know me on FB, don’t mention it because my pregnancy is not public knowledge yet.

I have Damian Alexander and Arthur Malachy. I would like something more along the lines of Arthur than Damian (Damian was my ex’s pick). The rules are that I do not want anything in the top 100, it cannot end with N or S (N is too popular and surname starts with S). My husband does not like anything that seems too “foreign” or strange.

    Some names we’ve discussed:

    Hugo
    Rowan
    Oliver
    Oscar
    Madoc
    Ezra

    Rejections:

    Theodore
    Silas
    Leif
    Stellan
    Flynn
    Truman

    Discussed:

    Alice – he LOVES
    Hazel

Rejected, at least for first name:

    Helen
    Ramona
    Matilda
    Jane
    Ivy
    Eleanor
    Imogen

    So, any suggestions?

I love Ezra and Rowan, and like Oliver and Madoc for your boys names. Other possibilities – Abram, Errol, Cormac, Isaiah. I have no idea whether these are top 100 or not, but I think they are not super popular. For girl names, Hazel is pretty. It looks like you are trying for more classic names or possibly granny-chic. Does the N exclusion apply to girl names too? Some possibilities are Cordelia, Cleo, Juliet, Celia, Jillian, Rita, Genevieve, Rosalind, Ruth, Ruby, or Violet/Viola.

    Holy cow!! Congrats McKenzie!!

Hmm…Rowan is one of my all time fave boy names and I think it works with your boys. Oliver to me is pretty similar in sounds to Arthur. I’m not huge fans of the rest. I’m not keen on Alice and also the fact that you already have an A name in the sibset.

    Some suggestions:
    Elias/Elijah, Finley, Graham, Bennett, Vincent
Clara, Garnet, Stella (I know it’s an S but I think it could work), Norah, Evelyn (again I know about the rules but I think it’s cute with your boys)

No, Ns are fine for girls. It’s just every little boy I know has a name ending with N.

I do like Graham, although I prefer the more two-syllable pronunciation with Graeme. Bennett is also on my list but u hate “Ben.” I don’t remember if I tried Cormac or not, but Errol is a new idea :)

I do like Nora, but it just doesn’t feel quite right for me.

Thanks Anabel, I appreciate it. It would be so much easier if I could name him/her alone, but since I can’t, it’s difficult! LOL

Have you thought about it anymore? When are you due?

Of course, I am ALWAYS thinking about names. Baby or no, lol. According to Babycenter’s estimator, May 18th. I would put it before that, more like the 13th. I have shorter cycles.

I am really stuck on Hugo for a boy. To me, it’s perfect. It fits well, sounds good, and is generally known without being common.

For girls, it’s all up in the air. He still only likes Alice, though.
