Mina and Arthur

So, it has come to my attention that two of our top names (Mina and Arthur) are also characters in my favourite book (Dracula). Although Mina was partly inspired by the character, this link was not intentional!

Would it bother you? Make you like the set more? Not even be an issue?
Is the link even noticable to those who don’t like the book as much?

These are two of the only names we have been able to agree on (alongside Antonia and Max…lots of As and Ms!) so they’ll probably stay, but I wanted to get other opinions.

[What I also find funny is that my all-time favourite name (Lucinda 'Lucy') appears in the book as well (Lucy, not Lucinda). Crazy coincidence!!]

It doesn’t bother me, but I haven’t read the book or seen the movie. Lol. I have seen The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and there’s a vampire character named Wilhemina, but goes by Mina, and she makes a reference of knowing Dracula.
Even though Dracula is a classic, I doubt many people will pick up on the connection. A couple friends of mine chose the names Lucius and Leilah for their twins not realizing the similarity to Luke and Leia (from Star Wars) until a few weeks before they were born. They didn’t even think about changing either name b/c they had already decided on the names.

…I personally prefer Mina & Arthur to Antonia & Max.

It wouldn’t bother me if it was with my favourite book (I haven’t read Dracula yet). I’m really into reading and love a literary link, so it would be an added reason to like a name or sibset. It would only really bug me if they were a couple or something like that. I also love Arthur and Mina sounds great with it, and I prefer them to Antonia and Max.

I don’t think it would bother me.

Wouldn’t bother me. They’re both common enough names that they don’t scream “Dracula.”

ive never heard of that so i think its fine. id advise against using two twilight names or harry potter names because everyone knows that. that would be silly. but i dont think this is a strong association.

    i love mina,

    dont like arthur.

    love antonia and max

    I think it’s fine! I don’t know anything about Dracula….

I know the book quite well, but I think I’d only notice Mina (Mina being quite a lot more unusual than Arthur). Also, as she won’t be Wilhemina, it’s less likely to be remarked upon.
