    Hello again ladies……….

ok so…..what can MiMi or Minnie be a nickname for?
Hubby likes both of these providing there is a nice longer name for the birth certificate ( we might finally be getting somewhere)

middle name likely to be Jean

has to go well with Esmé and James

What would you name our baby? Thanks in advance :)

Mimi: Amelia, Amy (that’s my name and I have several friends who call me Mimi), Miriam … I think most “M” names would work. Margaret, Magnolia, Marjorie, Mallory, Marie, Mariah … My top picks would be Miriam or Mariah.

Minnie: Apparently this was originally a nn for the names Mary and Wilhelmina. Hm. Also Minerva, though I’m not wild about that (to me it’s a small town in Ohio). Possibly Miriam or Miranda too.

For Mimi, at least, pretty much anything that starts with Mi- sound could work. I like Miriam, since it gets that extra M, but it’s a generic enough nickname that i’s pretty flexible. I’ve heard Mimi as a name on it’s own, too, though I prefer it as a nickname. Maybe:
    Miranda
    Michelle
    Mila or Miley
    Mikayla/Micheala/assorted other spellings
    Mireille (meer-ray)
    Melissa
    Mia
    Mirabelle/a
    Milena
    Myra/Mira
Or, anything that ends in a -mi sound, like Amy, Jamie, etc. Or that contains it, though those can be a stretch. I like Amelia or Amelie, though.

Minnie I honestly would avoid (Minnie Mouse, and Mini as in miniature), but I feel like the same rules could apply, though names that include both an M and N work best.

Though many of the above suggestions are good, I would rule out Minerva (another Harry Potter character).

Amelia Jean (nicknamed Mimi or Minnie). Hands down!
