Middle name for Lilith

OH and I have decided to call our baby Lilith, if bump turns out to be a girl. However, we’re stumped for middle names. We like Rose but feel it’s more of a filler name and would prefer a name with a little more substance, as our other children’s middle names have significance for us and would like to use a nature name for this baby. We’ve considered using Briar, Willow, Juniper, Primrose and Azalea, but not sure how well they fit with Lilith.

We already have Zachary “Zach” James and Casandra “Cassie” Sophie. Our boys names for this one is Alexander Rowan/Charles. Our surname rhymes with Cotton.

It’s a pretty name. Do you know that it basically means “night monster” though? The mythical Lilith is descended from demons. It you are ok with that, I think Primrose goes best as a mn of the names you listed. Other options might be Chloe (flowering), Jasmine, Rosalind (pretty rose), Ivy, Coral, Jade, or Hazel.

The meaning was on my mind because of this book a friend recommended to me:

    http://www.amazon.com/Thrall-Daughters-Lilith-Novel-Volume/dp/0615655769/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386467779&sr=8-1&keywords=Thrall+quintenz

It’s a fun YA read that is well-reviewed. I wouldn’t be surprised if its popularity took off.

We know about Lilith’s history. Actually, in Jewish dogma, Lilith was Adam’s first wife, made from the same clay as him, who refused to “lie under him”. As such she was banished and demonised by a male dominated society. We chose Lilith because we think that being named after a woman who wanted to be treated equally is pretty awesome!

Coral and Hazel are lovely and flow well. I’ll add them to our considerations!

Yes, that is pretty awesome. It’s unfortunate that strong women were (are) so often considered evil somehow. Well, I hope little Lilith will be a trailblazer for the rest of us ;-)

I love Lilith! And I agree with you on you interpretation of the mythical character as a strong woman, I’ve always found her to be a fascinating character!

And I think it would sound great with Zachary and Casandra. Though, do you think you’ll shorten it to Lily? If so, using a floral middle name might be a bit much – maybe go with sometheng nature-y that’s a gem or something other than a flower?

What about a longer version of Rose, like Rosalie or Roseanne? I think either would be pretty with Lilith. I think Lilith Juniper sounds pretty good, too, and I really like the suggestions of Hazel and Jade!!

    Some other ideas:
Violet (I thought it would sound weird with Lilith, but the more I think on it, the better it sounds)
    Opal
    Acacia
    Amber
    Dawn
    Camille/Camilia
    Autumn
    Robin
    Clover
    Daphne
    Ruby

My first thought was Lilith Quinn.

Looking through the suggestions we’ve come up with a few combinations we like:

    Lilith Azalea
    Lilith Nova
    Lilith Hazel
    Lilith Coral
    Lilith Acacia
Lilith Sparrow – not too keen on this one
    Lilith Wren

What do you guys think? We’re still open to other suggestions :-)

I love the last one, Lilith Wren. Very cute, unique without being weird. And if you do shorten Lilith to Lily, Lily Wren is very sweet sounding.

I think Lilith Wren is one of your best options.

I agree, I really like Lilith Wren! Or Lilith Hazel would be lovely, too.
