i dont tolerate hormonal BC well at all so we use condoms and calender based methods to determine when i’m ovulating. after ten years i know my cycle very well and i am good at recognizing my ovulation symptoms.

this month i’m having ovulation symptoms directly following my period. this is not normal at all. this should not happen until at least 2-3 weeks after menstration. several days after my period finished i aslo had an instance of spotting, also very abnormal for me.

can you experience ovulation like symptoms in the very earliest stages of pregnancy? i googled it but unfortunately it pretty much reads like anyhting and everything is possible. hard to get any info on how common it is. if i am it is waaaaay to early to take a test since i would be something like a week and a half along.

I guess it depends on what kind of symptoms you are having. If you just finished your period and it was of normal length and heaviness, it is unlikely that your hormone levels would have changed enough for you to have any kind of pregnancy symptoms yet though. Sometimes stress can mess up your cycle, so maybe the craziness of the holidays created havoc. Also, as you get older, your cycling may become slightly less regular. I don’t mean perimenopause or anything as I think I remember you are pretty young still, but when I was in my twenties, everything was predictable to the day and even the time of day, but as I got into my thirties, there started to be more wiggle room and sadly, more annoying PMS and ovulation symptoms as well.

I agree with embra. Mine is kind of unpredictable anyway so I’m not sure, but it might be possible you’re ovulating extra early or that this is just a wonky cycle. If your period seemed lighter than usual I would probably take an HPT just to see.

i thought it would be too early for a HPT.

I was just thinking if your last period was unusually light it may have been spotting rather than a period. I may have just watched too many episodes of I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant ;) but I know it happens sometimes that a woman has heavy spotting that she assumes is a light period, so her pregnancy goes undetected for a while. If it seemed like a regular period though then yeah, I would wait to see if your next cycle is late.

I have the exact same problems, and that exact situation happened to me two months ago. I started getting really sick and getting pelvic pain. I was diagnosed with endometriosis last month, after several doctor appointments and ER trips. That may be an option.

Just wanted to follow up and see how you’re doing; I’m guessing if you did end up getting a BFP you would have let us know? Did things go back to normal after this?
