I love this name as does my husband. The only issue? Our last name is Watts and Miles Watts is a little s heavy. Isn’t it? Would you use it? Is it that bad? If I really like the name Miles does it really matter?? lol

I like Miles Benjamin as the combo right now.

Since Miles ends in a “z” sound rather than an “s” sound I think it works. Miles Benjamin Watts sounds good to me! :)

I really like Miles and I think Miles Watts sounds fine. Miles Benjamin Watts is a great combo! I used to have a lot more rules about what names would go with our last name. It has a very strong O sound and I used to rule out all names with O sounds (Leo, Noah, etc.) because I thought it would be too redundant, but after many many frustrating name talks with my husband, I eventually realized it wasn’t that big a deal and if we were ever to agree on another name I’d have to let that one rule go.

Miles is okay. I’ve never been over-the-moon about it, but it’s not bad. Miles Benjamin is nice. You could do Benjamin Miles, and then you wouldn’t have as much worry about the Miles Watts sound. It’s not ideal, but if it’s THE NAME, I don’t think you should let it keep you from it, if that makes sense. :) I’m not sure–Miles Edward? Miles Ezekiel? Miles Everett? Miles Gabriel? Miles Samuel?

    Good luck!

I love Miles (and Milo) but I agree it doesn’t quite flow with your last name :/ I wouldn’t say it’s a deal breaker though. At least keep it as a mn option?!

Honestly, it’s not my favorite name – I like Milo so much more, and I knew a Miles in high school who definitely got teased a lot along the lines of his weight and “miles” being a large unit of measurement. It’s not a bad name inherently, but I don’t think I could ever use it.
And I do agree that it sounds choppy with your last name. Could be worse, but I find it very abrupt. With a long middle name it sounds a lot better, but you have to remember that middle names are very rarely used in everyday conversation… I think it could be okay if you really love it, but I think there would be other options that sound a lot better with Watts.
