I'd Rather Have Snow
So earlier this winter I complained about snow. Well I take it back at least when it’s snowing it’s kinda warm. The forecast for Monday is -47 that’s right 83 degrees before freezing.
Yeah, I don’t even want to know what that feels like! We’re getting a blizzard this weekend, with expected windchills around -30 Mon and Tues, after anywhere from 6 to 16 inches of snow (on top of the the 6 we just got) blowing around Sat into Sun. It was about -15 this morning and it was all we could do to get our vehicles to start. We’re used to cold weather, but this is ridiculous.

Here it’s cold for us; low 30s. I haven’t seen snow in a good 2 years!
LOL. Gaamy, my dog hates it too! He FLIES back in the door when he’s done and rushes to lay in front of the space heater (we run a few of them to help curb the gas bill from the furnace).
Now they’re saying windchills here could be as low as -50 on Monday. I really want to cry.
Magster you must live up near me, because that’s our same temperature.
We always have to tell our dog to bark on her way to pee otherwise her feet are too cold to come back in the house.

I’m guessing several of you live north of me. Thankfully, it’s only going to be obnoxiously cold here, not insanely obnoxiously cold. Today it was in the 40s which melted much of the snow we already had. However, temps are quickly dropping and it’s forecasted that we’ll have 8-12 inches of snow and ice overnight plus negative temps. Monday’s high is 0F with a low of -8 and windchills of -15 to -25. It seems like a large portion of the country is dealing with crazy cold plus snow. Even my Florida relatives are having to get out their coats and sweaters. We are planning on hibernating tomorrow and have stocked up on movies from the library. As long as we don’t lose power/heat, we’ll be alright. Our dog is a husky mix and she actually seems to enjoy exploring the yard more when it’s snowy and cold. I’m interested to see how she respond to the intense cold.
Lilybell, I’m in east central Indiana. Inga, my Alabama relatives are crying right now because it’s going to be below freezing for something like 48 hours straight. lol I do feel for them though, because they’re really not used to it. But we Hoosiers are not used to anything beyond windchills in the low negatives once in awhile either! This weather is definitely nuts.

I saw Tuesday is a high of 10 for us … I don’t know what the wind chills are but it was wicked here on Friday. We got snow and the wind was so strong it whipped it everywhere. It has not gotten above freezing yet so the roads still suck (well the back roads at least)
Magster- Oh you’re quite a bit south of me actually. I live in northern Wisconsin. Yeah the -47 is before any windchill. All of Minnesota already closed all schools in the state for Monday. I still have to work though. I’m just praying that my car will start.
And since my fiance is a school bus driver in Minnesota so he gets to go watch one of the little girls for me so I don’t have to take either girl outside.
I thought that’s where you were. It’s still not super cold here yet, but we definitely got hammered with snow today. We’re in a state of emergency, so no going anywhere unless you want a ticket. No school either, which we were already expecting. I’ll be shocked if they’re open on Tuesday.

In Connecticut, we got like 8 inches of snow between Thursday and Friday. This morning, there was still slushy snow on our street which makes it hard to drive. Around 9 AM, it starting POURING which melted all the snow from the street, and now half the streets are flooded. I hate this weather. My brother almost took out a sign while turning the corner of the street while driving his pick up truck through the snow.

Lilybell, you live by my family. They’re in Hayward, WI. My mom is just a bit south of there and they are having the same type of temps and weather as you. I hope everyone stays warm. People here (San Francisco Bay area) complain about the weather, but I never even look at the temperature here because I know its always better than where I could be!
Stay warm everyone!!!
