I think my boys' style is refining…

I’ve always noticed that my boys’ taste seemed to be all over the place–some Bible names, some more vintagy names, some unisex (okay, VERY unisex…) names, some Irish names, some classics, quite a lot of surnames… but I’ve been noticing my style has been leaning toward something a bit more timeless than Grayson and Brody, more quirky than Daniel and Benjamin, a wee bit international… I don’t know how I would define it yet, but I’ve been thinking of adding these to my list/transitioning my list to this–wdyt of the list in general? How do they fit with my girls’ names (Isabelle, Arianne, Olivia, Violet, Catherine, Emmeline, Lillian, Charlotte, Eleni, Eva, Tess, and Anne-Sophie)? Any other names you feel fit in with this style?

    Caleb
    Everett
    Jack
    Avery
    Leo
    Owen
    Samuel
    Zane
    Linus
    Grant
    Declan
    Rory
    Addison

    Thanks, ladies!

Ugh, I can’t go back to edit, but I had wanted to add Isaac and Graham (nn Gray) to that list, as well…

Caleb- love it. i could picture it on a cute little boy
Everett- like it. i like that its different. its growing on me.
    Jack- nice
Avery- idk. i think this name seems more girly to me. no idk. i like it for a boy too.
    Leo- not a fan
Owen- my current fav. hope it doesnt get annoyingly popular. its not a name though that stays a top name for generations. like joseph, matthew, christopher michael. theres always tons of those. but ive never met any owens.
    Samuel- i like samuel.
    Zane- dont care for
    Linus- dont like
Grant- i like this. very handsome, classic sound but different
    Declan- i like declan
    Rory- eh not a fan
Addison- unfortunately ive only heard this for girls
    isaac- nice
graham- i like graham. but i like grant better

i dont really have a boys list. i need to work on that. alot of names i like sound kind of dated though. i dont know whats “in” nowadays. i love most of your girls list

I think it’s a great list! I’m not wild bout Linus, Declan, Addison or Graham but I really like all the rest. And I do think they fit well with your girl names.

The ones I like from your list are: Caleb, Everett, Leo, Owen, Samuel, & Isaac. Avery and Addison I have only heard on girls. Your girl names are all pretty.

Thanks, ladies. I’m not sure if all of these will make the cut or not–I know Rory probably won’t (although I love him in the MN spot! Maybe I can squeeze him in there?), and there’s a good likelihood Linus won’t, either, although I’ve been in love with him for years, too. Addison and Leo are pretty much a shoe-in at this point, and I’m seriously considering Owen and Isaac, too. Although they both may end up being MN potential, too.

Does anybody have any MN ideas for Leo? I feel like I need something on the softer side…

My favorites are Grant, Graham, Linus, Jack, and Caleb! Everett is also a very strong name. I’m on the fence with Rory. Maybe Leo Rory? I think Leo either needs to be a longer name, or have a really strong 2 syllable MN. Like Leo Daniel or Leo Declan.

    Grant – Not bad
    Declan – I like it
Rory – sounds to much like roaring to me
Addison – Never liked it much
Isaac – this was my favorite boys’ name for quite a while when I was younger XD I still like it

Jack-Cute! Prefer Jackson though I think

    Owen-ok on someone else’s kid
    Samuel-love love love!
    Zane-it’s ok
Linus-not one I’ve ever considered but cute on someone else’s kid
    Grant-ok. prefer in middle
    Declan-not my style
    Rory-it’s ok
Addison-not my style but I do know a boy Addison. He’s probably around 15 by now.
    Isaac-super cute
    Graham-LOVE!

I grouped them into categories that I think they fit into + make good sets with your other choices. Hope it helps!

    Biblical:
Caleb & Isaac-I think these two fit best with Eva or Tess.

    Unisex:
Addison & Avery-I prefer these on girls, but either way I like them with Charlotte or Emmeline

    Irish:
Declan, Rory & Owen- with Catherine

    Classic:
Jack, Leo, Samuel, Grant, Graham & Everett – with Catherine, Olivia, Lillian, Eva, Tess…pretty much any of your girl names!

    Quirky:
Zane & Linus – with Eleni

To me, it seems like your style is mostly “classic.” Many of both your girl & boy names make great sibsets from this category.
