What’s your favorite meal to take to someone who’s recently had a baby? (They have 4 older kids as well.) Looking for something easy and kid-friendly but also BF-friendly. :)

I would say lasagna. Maybe include a nice bakery loaf of bread and stuff for a salad.

Yeah, lasagna or baked ziti. It’s usually a “safe” meal.

And now I’m feeling deja vu, as if YW and I have already given these answers in another food-related thread! LOL

    LOL, maybe you have. :)

I thought about lasagna but that tends to be what everyone takes. ;) (Since she had a C-section and was in the hospital longer and he was in the NICU for a bit, they’ve got about a month’s worth of meals lined up, 3x/wk. I might do it anyway though. ;) She said their other 2 meals for this week cancelled so bring whatever. :(

Mac-n-cheese!!! Homemade mac and cheese. I have a friend that makes this and I practically have committed her to bringing this to me for any special occasion ever. Its easy to make, all kids like it, and you can easily put it in a casserole or make a giant portion of it at one time.

May be hard to transport, but home made soup! I loved home made soup the first two weeks of my maternity leave! (After that I had to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner myself! And I had a C-section!)

Mmm, home-made mac and cheese IS good stuff. :)

I also might do chicken chili with rice, shredded cheese and some tortilla chips thrown in for good measure, and maybe a salad. Not sure if that’s a little too spicy for the mom though (I make it with cumin, black pepper and a wee bit of chili powder).

What about different homemade sandwiches (or at least the fixings for some) or some pepperoni rolls and some bags of chips/crackers??

    Thanks for all the ideas!

Another I love that’s quick to prep, easy, yummy and pretty healthy is one I got from Pinterest (so you may all have seen it): Put a row of chicken breasts, a row of diced potatoes, and a row of green beans next to each other in a 9×13 pan. Sprinkle Italian dressing mix over it all and then drizzle melted butter (or olive oil) over it. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. I also use disposable aluminum baking pans so they don’t have to deal with cleanup or returning dishes.
