DH's favorite names
We are sitting here, bored, waiting for his heart surgery to start. So I actually got him to give a full list of names he likes.
First off, good luck to him!! I’ll keep you both in my thoughts today.
I like all of those boys names, especially Elijah and Daniel (in full not wild about Dan or Danny). For the girls names, I like Eliana best, and Julia second best.

Hope the heart surgery went well, I will be praying for you. As for the names…
Elijah- love! And the nn Eli is lovely
Daniel- I like this too, I actually love the nn possibilities of the names as well
Joshua- I like the full length name but Im not really a fan of Josh
Christian- hmm I’m not sure how I feel about this one
Evangeline- beautiful and the nn possibilities are endless!
Christine- this one seems a little old ladyish to me, maybe im wrong?
It seems that I have gone on about nicknames far to much in this post! Anyway, my favourites would have to be Elijah and Eliana.
Thanks, y’all! His surgery went well today and his recovery is going pretty well so far. We should be able to go home from the hospital tomorrow morning.
Wishing_gate, it’s funny you picked those two as your favorites; those were the two names DH and I had agreed on back when we were engaged. When we had the boys though, I wasn’t as big on Elijah so we didn’t end up using it but I think it’s still top of his list.
I never would have thought of Christine as old-ladyish; interesting! I was born in 1976 and knew so many Christines and Christinas (with all the different spellings and nicknames) growing up!
I also agree it’s always interesting to hear what names guys like! And I think good to keep in mind b/c we can have names we rave over but if it’s one men would tend to dislike, I like to factor that in too!

TwoSapphires: Haha, Im glad I seemed to have chosen the right names then! I think a little Elijah or Eliana would be beautiful! Yeah, I’m not really sure why I find Christine an old-ladyish name to be honest with you, it just seems to give me that kind of vibe. On the contrary, there is a little girl at work that I met today name Christina and she was a little beauty and so I may warm up to it, haha!
I’m glad to hear your husbands heart surgery went well. Here’s to a swift recovery!

I’m glad to hear his recovery seems to be going well so far! As soon as I read that you were waiting for his surgery to begin I sent up a prayer, not realizing it had already happened. Here’s to praying his recovery continues to go well!
As for his favorites, Joshua and Evangeline are my favorites, although I like Julia, Daniel, and Elijah, as well. I like Elijah; I just keep going off of it because I’ve met (literally! And this isn’t one of those cases where someone says literally and really means figuratively…) t.w.e.n.t.y.f.i.v.e stinkin. Elijahs! Still a lovely name, though.
What do you and DH think about Ephraim? It seems like it might be up your alley as well. I hope he is recovering well and not in too much pain!

Elijah and Evangeline are my favorites. The rest are just ok…not my style.

Glad to hear your husband’s doing well! Hope he’s still doing alright!
Elijah – Never been a fan, but I see the appeal. It’s nice and classic, and I do kind of like the nickname Eli.
Daniel – Love it, it’s just such a great, simple name. CLassic, handsome, works great on all ages.
Joshua – I like it, though it seems like its gone down in popularity in the last 20 years? I know a TON my age, but haven’t heard of many younger…
Christian – Ugh, I like the name, but I just think it’s mean to name your child after a religion….
Eliana – Pretty, simple, modern. Could be quite nice.
Evangeline – I know I always say this, but I’ve never liked it. I just think it sounds tacky, like you’re trying too hard to give your daughter some overwhelmingly girly and angelic name. And like Christian, wayyyyy too religion-y. I know a lot of people on here like it a lot, so I always feel bad being honest about it, but I really can’t stand it…
Christine – I really like Christine! I grew up with a lot of Christinas, but Christine is so much prettier in my mind, and I think it ages really well too.
Julia – Love it! Simple, pretty, classic, sounds good with a lot of middle names and sibling names.
Thanks, Embra! I’m not wild about the sound of Ephraim, though it’s a name I like on other people.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone! Always helpful.
