I am down to two middle name choices, both I like for their meaning. Which do you prefer and why? Do they flow ok? Surname i

Dexter Tadhg (Tadhg means poet and was an 11th century king of Ireland)

Dexter Emrys (Emrys means etenal – I LOVE the Myrddin Emrys – Merlinus Ambrosius – “Merlin” connection)

Or other suggestions with similar feel or meanings?

I prefer Dexter Tadhg but I am partial to gaelic names :) You may also like the name Riordan which means Royal Poet?

I used to have a thing for the name Ambrose and I thought of it when you mentioned Merlinus Ambrosius. Wdyt of Dexter Ambrose?

I love the suggestion of Dexter Ambrose. I admit Ambrose is a personal fave of mine.

I like Tadgh in theory, and of course it is in the middle so it is fine here. I am on the fence about it being used as a first name a little, simply because people will have a hard time with knowing how to say it. Of course, I would immediately know how to pronounce a little Tadgh’s name, because I am a super-duper name nerd…but that sure isn’t for everyone. So, of the two I would pick this.

    Have you thought of:
    Dexter Timothy
    Dexter Teagan
Dexter Baird (This is pretty cool!)

all of these mean “poet” or “storyteller”.

My husband refuses to budge on Ambrose.

The boys say Dexter Emrys, even though it runs into our last name.

Ah, OK, I like the pronunciation of Tadhg but I never would have guessed it either.
I like Dexter Emrys OK but I really like Dexter Riordan, Dexter Baird or Dexter Teagan.
