What’s been your craziest craving so far?

I’m not pregnant now, but when I was pregnant with my son I craved lots of salty cheesy foods like potato soup and sour cream and onion flavored ruffles, sour stuff like lemonade, and peppermint … I think I ate everyone’s candy canes that year at Christmas, which is completely not normal!

I didn’t crave anything crazy with Will and Alex, but my most consistent craving was pasta with meat sauce (even Chef Boyardee ravioli the first few months, which was crazy b/c I’ve always hated that before and since!) and that’s always been one of their favorite foods. :)

I don’t think I’ve ever had a real “craving” but definitely the things that sound good tend to be carby – pasta, doughnuts, turkey stuffing – but those sound good all the time, right?

With my daughter I craved high water content foods like cucumbers, oranges, etc. With my son I craved broccoli with soy sauce on it. I ate huge bowls of it for snacks.

Well during my pregnancy, i almost lost all my cravings due to too much of vomiting tendencies, which usually gets triggered once i ate anything, that is why for 5-6 month i was mostly on a less diet but after 6 month i started liking confectionery items.

It’s nothing crazy, but right now I’ve been craving dry bready foods like toasted bagels and crackers and cheese, cooked vegetables (yum!) and water. I was almost drooling over the thought of reheating some leftover veggies last night. They looked so good I had to have them right then. Haha. That might be slightly crazy.

At the moment fruit is the least appetizing thing I can think of. Juice is ok, but something about the cold crunchy sweet combo of fruit doesn’t do it for me at the moment. Meat is also on my I’m not interested list, but I’m loving beans.

Let’s hope! My cravings have been going insane since I last posted. I’m hungry and/or nauseous all the time and I’m dreaming day and night about food. I even woke myself at 2am this morning dreaming of croissants and bagels and feeling too hungry to sleep. Thankfully, a small bowl of cereal brought me back to normal person status. I’ve been thinking for days about going to Chipotle and getting a salad with corn and blacks beans and guacamole instead of dressing. My husband agreed we must go there tomorrow for dinner before I go crazy. I’ve also been daydreaming for two days of having croissant with turkey and swiss. No idea why these two things seem so insanely important to eat, but I’m finding the cravings both amusing and annoying :) Yesterday, I tried a bite of my son’s apple and gagged. Good thing the veggies are so appealing.

Ooh, the Chipotle sounds really good!
That’s crazy that apple would make you gag; I always think of that as a pretty “safe” food but there’s not always a rhyme or reason to pregnancy cravings and aversions, eh?

The Chipotle was awesome! Thankfully, I’ve been able to eat some apple since the gagging incident. Fruit in general is not all that appealing right now, but I had a taste of watermelon the other day and it tasted amazing! Right now, my biggest aversions are with drinks. Just thinking about soda of any kind makes me feel nauseated. I had been drinking some ginger ale, but now it’s not tasting so great. Same with juice. It’s now icky. Water and soy milk are the only drinks that taste good. Water has never tasted so fantastic! I’ve also started being repulsed by Swedish Fish (a candy I usually love) and salty fried foods like fries and chips. Aftertaste is another issue. I’m doing a lot more brushing and mouthwash than usual. It’s very funny how healthy my cravings are right now! I roasted some Brussels sprouts tonight and was savoring the delicious smell the whole time. Haha. It was the complete opposite with Ethan where I craved everything rich, salty and sour.

My cravings seem to change by the day. Yesterday I felt so sick, even water made me nauseous. Today, I’m craving gatorade and bready stuff without any strong flavors. I’m sure by next week it will be something different.

This thread is too fun :)

I didn’t crave anything during my first three pregnancies, but when I was pregnant with my youngest I craved pineapple juice like crazy! We never really drink pineapple juice, so it was very odd for me. :) I crave graham crackers and grilled chicken this pregnancy.

Grilled cheese always sounds good to me. ;)
And graham crackers with PB? Yummy!!

I was just talking to a pg friend yesterday who said she is constantly craving fresh fruits and vegetables. I didn’t usually have such super healthy cravings but I said she is going to have one well-nourished baby! :)

Fruits and veggies would be the thing to crave! I never really remember having strong cravings through any of my pregnancies but I sure see some doosies (sp) on facebook!

Well i too believe that craving or eating habit suddenly changes once you are pregnant, like for example i loved every bit of chinese & italian foodstuff, but i started hating those once i was pregnant, rather loved to feed myself with maximum fruits & veggies.
