Cold feet close to due date?!

My SO and I have had two names picked out for years. Mckenna Harper for a girl. Camden Lee for a boy. But it seems now that I’m getting close and I keep saying them, I feel like they’re not right. I feel mckenna harper is not feminine enough and that camden lee was missing something. I adjusted Camden full name to Camden Michael Lee Walker-Travers. But Mckenna is still bothering me. Harper is my maiden name. So im already recycling that name. But I love the sound of Mckenna Elise. Elise is my middle name. Is it too much to use them both? Mckenna Elise Harper Walker-Travers? I feel like a crazy person. But I need to settle somehow. If I cant, im afraid I’ll try to change her name all together. And I cant find another girl name that I love like I do mckenna. And that my so actually agrees on. Anybody have any advice? Did this happen to anyone else? :(

Nevermind. I’ve got enough negativity. I’m no longer in search of opinions. I would close it if I could or delete it, but im not sure how from mobile. Thank you.

I personally love both names just as they are. :)

Well thank you. First nice comment I’ve heard. I don’t mind people’s opinions, but to complete shame me for wanting to name my kid that and tell me how disgusting of a mother I am for choosing such a trashy unclassy name is just too much. Thank you though.

Sorry you are getting that feedback. I love the name Mckenna. :)

Thank you. I definitely know that Mckenna Elise Harper Walker-Travers is way too much now lol we all have our moments. But I just couldn’t imagine being so incredibly rude to someone. There’s tons of names that I don’t necessarily like because they’re not my style but thats just it. Just because they’re not MY style doesn’t make them bad names..

I love both McKenna & Camden! I do prefer Mckenna Harper to Mckenna Elise not only because of the personal connection you have with it but also the flow in general. Don’t over think on-they are great names!!

Thank you! I need to stop over thinking and listening to all the negativity or reading the negativity. Mckenna Harper is right for me and my fiancé and our possible daughter. And thats all that matters. I just have so many hormones and im sensitive now lol.

I’m sure! Just go for it if it’s what feels right. They will learn to love the name once she is here.

I like both names. Some people really can be rude, not usually on here, but on other message boards.

Can I offer one suggestion…maybe change the spelling of McKenna to Makenna…I find it to look more feminine with the a instead of the c.

Camden Lee is very nice. :-)

Yeah I noticed, I like it here a lot better. And thank you. I wanted it to be Makenna, but my so liked the Mc so I let that be our compromise…since it doesn’t really matter to me so much. I just hope this name ages with her okay. I just began to question that.

I have always had a soft spot for Makenna (this spelling, though I understand your compromise), even though it isn’t my usual style. Of all the ‘Mc’ names, I think Makenna and Michaela are the ones that will age best so you made a good choice there. :-) I think Harper with Makenna does make the combo feel quite masculine, as you said, and I adore Elise. Is Makenna set in stone? I love the meaning behind Harper and wouldn’t want that to be compromised. Perhaps you could consider Elise Harper? If the ‘masculinity’ is no longer an issue (and it isn’t that bad, honestly) then Makenna Harper is fine. The flow is a little off but family significance is more important in my opinion.

Camden Lee is very cool but I’m glad you added Michael. It adds a bit more substance and strength to the combo. It is timeless, handsome and flows well, despite Camden not being my usual style. Good choice!

My name is Clarissa Elise Harper so I didn’t want to have her name be literally my whole name almost. Mckenna wasn’t set in stone with me at all, I was originally going to name my daughter Harper as most of you know, had it chosen for years and it just blew up so quickly so I didn’t want to. But prior I was playing around with middle names and I came across an article that had a little girl named Mckenna in it and liked it for a middle name. Harper Mckenna. But like I said, Harper became too popular and once my SO heard Mckenna he loved it. And wanted to switch them to Mckenna Harper. So long story short (after the rambling) it is set in stone for him. He just explained to me last night how he envisions this little girl Mckenna Harper and he can’t imagine her as anyone else and I can’t bring myself to ruin that for him. Because I do like it.

And thank you, yeah Camden was weird for me too at first but it just sounded right. It did lack substance though so I was glad to add the Michael in there. Which is after my fiancé as well, his name is Michael. And lee is after his granddad. So it all works very well.

And I agree, the flow is a little off. I think that’s what’s honestly bugging me the most.

great names. but mckenna elise harper walker-travers and camden michael lee walker-travers is wayyyy too much. i am only a fan of three names in total for example camden lee walker or mckenna elise walker. but if you have a hyphenated last name then one middle name sounds ok. id pick

    camden lee walker-travers
    mckenna elise walker-travers

Yeah I realized it was too much. But yeah his last name is Walker-Travers. So there’s nothing I can change about that. I’m going to be picking just one middle name for McKenna. I just dont know which one (harper or elise). Thank you.

Possibly even Elise Mckenna Walker-Travers or Harper Mckenna Walker-Travers. I may do a poll. Its so hard..

If you can bear to lose Harper, Elise Mckenna is gorgeous!! It may be difficult or your SO to give up on Mckenna Harper, though.

I agree, I love Elise Mckenna. But he just can’t give it up. He loves the idea of Mckenna Harper. He thinks it’s so strong and hes got this vision ect. He wants a little girl too, which makes it that much more hard. I just wish our last name wasn’t so harsh. Walker-Travers is so aggressive and manly on its own. So it makes this a lot harder.

I love Elise McKenna, too! But yeah, I agree it’s tricky working with a double surname.
