Clodagh just popped into my head and now I’m rather smitten. What are we thinking? (not for actual first name use, just out of interest) It’s a girls’ name pronounced CLO-da.

Hmm. I think the sound of the name is OK but visually I find it unappealing (the “gh” makes me think “ugh” or “Augh!!”) and I think in the US, depending on where you live, she might have a lot of issues with spelling and pronunciation.

Clod. Augh. Both are bad ideas. I don’t think most people in the US at least will pronounce that right. And just…clod is an unpleasant word.

I like it but I’m biased because I am familiar with, and love, Irish names. I had a friend Clodagh.. It reminds me of Claddagh which is an Irish symbol that I feel like people are familiar with and know how to pronounce. Chloe could always be a potential nickname if she prefers?

Sorry, i just can not jump on board, it is visually unappealing and also does not sound particularly attractive either.

The sound is “ok” but nothing that I would ever oooh and ahh over. Visually I find it very very unappealing.
