Do you think Clara sounds too rhymey with a LN that sounds kind of like Banderas?

Hmm, I agree with Kimiha, it’s a little rhymey, but in a makes-it-memorable kind of way, more so than tacky. I think it could work. Though it probably depends on your exact last name.

I think it sounds fine, but there might be a difference in pronunciation. I say CLAR-uh (CLAR rhymes with car), which I love! I know you didn’t ask for opinions on the name, but I love it, only with the aforementioned pronunciation though. I always feel it’s like a more adventurous version of Lara or Laura, and it’s got a great meaning. And of course there’s the added plus of the Doctor Who character. :)

    Thanks for the opinions. :)
I have a beloved great-aunt who was named Clara (pronounced clair-uh) and I like the idea of naming a DD after her. I might do Clara or Claire as an MN instead but I do love Clara and would really consider it if I could get DH on board. I just wasn’t sure about the LN thing. Ours ends with an “air-ose” (soft “s”) sound instead of air-as like Banderas.
