Cell phone charging question

My mom, oldest daughter and I are taking a one day trip to NYC in November. We will be leaving on a bus at 12:30 am and not getting back until 2:00 am or so the next day.

    1) Are there places on the bus to charge my phone?

    2) Are there places in NYC (like charging stations or something) that I can charge my phone up halfway through the day or something?

    3) Do some public cafes/coffee shops allow you to charge there? Bathrooms too maybe?

    4) Any other suggestions with spending a fortune on a portable charging device?

    Thanks!!

you will probably be able to find somewhere in nyc to charge a phone, but you may have issues quickly finding a place on your route to do so, if you know ahead of time where you’re going, google local bussinesses and see if they have charging stations.

aside from that, does your mother also have a phone? my suggestion would be if you are bringing multiple phones have only one phone on at a time, that way if one runs out of juice the others are still charged.

I did have that thought Gaamy. I looked up some articles on the web and they were talking about public solar powered charging stations. Do those really exist?

i’ve never been to NYC, but the solar charging stations do exist, only problem is they seem to change locations for some reason.

you best bet is probably to look up bussinesses in the area you will be in and check their websites to see if they have charging stations. i feel like there is probably an app for that!

I would just keep the phone shut off and only turn it on when needed. And look for ways to conserve battery life, such as keeping the screen brightness turned down and disconnecting from the internet if you’re not using it. Those two things helped a lot with my last phone.

Do you mean you just need an electrical outlet? I’d be surprised if there weren’t some throughout Grand Central Station, where most buses land.

I’d be surprised if there weren’t free outlets (i.e. at the bus station or at a Panera or something if you stop in one) too.
