Barron / Baron ?

Is the name that bad? My husband and I both like this name. Meaning noble man. I’ve received a lot of heat in reference to this being a title in the UK similar to King, Duke, etc. Many other speak of a barron woman. Really?
I was hoping being in the US this shouldn’t apply….or atleast I keep telling myself this.
We were thinking Barron Michael or Barron James. No?
    I will take all honesty. : )
I feel another issue is I can’t find a name that is as good as my first son, Emmett.

It’s definitely still a title people in the US are familiar with. And yeah, I though of the idea of being barren, too. Even if not a barren woman, there’s the idea of a barren wasteland. Barren means like, dead, dry, deserted. So I personally wouldn’t use it, way too many connotations attached to it. It doesn’t sound like a name to me. Sorry.

    What about names like:
    Liam
    Jasper
    Caleb
    Gavin
    Payton
    Avery
    Greyson
    Maddox
    Cailan
    Connor
    Freeman
    Brady
    Carter

You’ve convinced me. I love many of the names you have listed. However hubby has vetoed all. I’ll keep working on him. Thank you.

I think either of the title or the word “barren,” neither of which leave a good taste in my mouth. If you’re going to use the title Baron as a name, I would spell it correctly. It will make your child’s life easier, and he’ll thank you for it when he’s old enough. Life’s hard enough.

i dont think its a bad name. i do think of a woman who cant get pregnant. but its not a strong association. i think emmett and baron would be an awesome sibset. also i like byron too. maybe a bit better than baron. you could also choose a similar name like darren

Of your other names, I think I like Logan the best.
I like Maddox (or Mattox) fairly well, too.
