Am I crazy with this one?

I thought of a name and I can’t find it anywhere so maybe it is too bizarre…Adorina…like adore. My last name begins with Ad so I thought this might flow well and you can call her Addy or Dori for short. What do you think?

I kind of like it. I love Adora too, and I just generally like names with Ador- in them. I’m not sure how well it would flow with an Ad- surname (maybe they’d be too similar?) but I suppose it depends on the rest of your last name. The only thing I found when I looked it up was someone called Adorina Spenta (although that could be a screen name), so maybe it is used, but very rare. I don’t think it’s crazy. Dori is a cute nickname!

Not my style. It sounds made up to me.

I agree with Embra. Totally looks and sounds made up.

I don’t dislike it. I like Andora (similar to Endora, mom’s name on Bewitched). I tend to like unique names, so long as they sound like an actual human name oppose to a pet name or thing. (I like the names Hunter, Chase, and Talon (though this one had to grow on me), but I don’t like Apple, Pirate, or Coco for a human.) And the more I say Adorina in my head and out loud, the more I like it. Sounds like the name a princess, or perhaps a sorceress/witch, would have in a fantasy book/story.

As far as meshing with last name, I agree with Myosotis that it would depend on the last name. I think Adorina Adams sounds fine, but Adorina Adamson may be too much. …And Addy may not be best nn to go with ln starting in “Ad”.

I love Adora, so I feel like Adorina just might be TOO over-the-top. Adora is frilly enough as it is! I would go with Adora; you could still call her Addy or Dori/Dora. Adorina is pretty, though, and definitely unusual. It seems more namey and less pretentious than Adora, maybe, but I still like Adora more. :)

    Good luck!

pretty sound but i dont like it if its not a real name. i believe adora is a real name. so id use that or adelina. if the last name starts with ad too i think it would not flow if both names started with the same sound. like for example adora adderly or adelina adair. not terrible but contrast is good.
