In Greek mythology, silver-footed Thetis was a sea nymph. She was one of the fifty Nereids, who were the daughters of Nereus, and Doris, and a grand-daughter of Tethys. She was especially known for being the mother of the hero Achilles. Her name is derived from the Greek 'tithenai' (to dispose; to order). |
