Well known from the Biblical story of Samson and Delilah. Samson was a prophet during the time that the Israelites were being attacked by the Philistines. He fell in love with Delilah, who was working for the Philistines, and revealed to her that the source of his strength was his long hair. This was cut off by the Philistines and Samson was captured and imprisoned. He was forgotten for long enough for his hair to regrow, so he was strong enough to pull down the pillars of the Philistine temple and kill the leaders inside.
