In the Gospel of John in the Bible, Nathaniel is named as one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. He is not mentioned in any of the other gospels, and so is normally associated with Bartholomew.
Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American novelist, responsible for 'The Scarlet Letter'. Nathaniel Lyons was the first Union or northern general to be killed in the American Civil War. He was killed at the Battle of Wilson's Creek. |
