In Persian legend Jamshid was the fourth king of the world who could comand all angels and demons. He ruled for more than 300 years and was the greatest monarch ever seen. The Iranian city Jamkaran was named after this legendary Jamshid.
The name derives from two Persian names, Jam/Yima/Yamah meaning twin and Shid/Xðaçta/ Xðaitah meaning radiant or bright.
