St Geneviève is the patron saint of Paris. She lived in the 5th century and was renowned for her piety. She persuaded the people of Paris not to flee when attack by the Hun army seemed imminent (she was proved correct when instead the army instead attacked Orléans). Miracles were attributed to St Geneviève after her death.
