    In Greek mythology, Europa was a Phoenician woman whom was seduced by Zeus, who came to her in the guise of a bull. As she mounted the bull's back to ride him, she was absconded with to the island of Crete where Zeus revealed himself to her. She then became the first queen of Crete.
