Additional Info:In Greek mythology Elektra (otherwise known as Electra) was a daughter of King Agamemnon of Mycenae and his wife Clytemnestra. The king 'killed' her sister, Iphigeneia, in order to please the goddess Artemis so his ships could sail to Troy. The Queen, Clytemnestra, swore to never forgive him. When the King returned from the sacked city of Troy with his new slave and mistress Cassandra, Clytemnestra and her lover Aigisthos killed them both in cold blood. Elektra then aided her only brother Orestres to flee and later return to avenge their father's death.
Electra is one of the nine brightest stars in the Pleiades star cluster, in the constellation of Taurus. It is also the name of a bicycle company and has been the name of several ships and airplanes.
