    Additional info:

The word 'ashura' means "tenth" in Arabic. In North Africa, ashur also denotes the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, Muharram. The Day of Ashura is a religious observance marked every year by Muslims on the 10th day of Muharram. It marks the climax of the Remembrance of Muharram (but not of the Islamic month).
Ashura is also the name of a Japanese deity.
With three faces and eight arms, Ashura was revered in Japan as one of the supernatural guardians of Shakyamuni. This Buddhist god originates from a much earlier Hindu tradition: in Hinduism, the Asura are a group of power-seeking deities, sometimes referred to as demons.

Ashura is also a Swahili name meaning "friend."
