Andronicus is the Latin form of the Greek name Andronikos. There have been two saints by this name. Andronicus also appears as a minor character in the Bible who spent time in prison with Paul. Andronicus was the name of four Byzantine Emperors and three Emperors of Trebizond. Titus Andronicus is the eponymous main character in one of Shakespeare's earliest and bloodiest tragedies, fully titled 'The Most Lamentable Romaine Tragedie of Titus Andronicus'.
