  • Additional Info:
The meaning of this name is disputed and is sometimes shown as "Beloved". The roots of this name speculatively come from the same roots which gives us the name David, but this translation seems incomplete as it doesn't account for the element "mo" which is present in Almodad. Thusly, the interperetation of "infinite" or "that which cannot be measured" from the elements "al" (suffix meaning "non" or the negative) and "madad" (meaning "to measure") seems much more solid.

Almodad appears in the Bible as the oldest son of Joktan and, along with his brothers, found an Arab tribe that populate the plain of Shinar. They eventually build the Tower of Babel.

Almodad is sometimes written as El-Mudad, an Arabic version of the original Hebrew.
