Borne in Greek mythology by the youngest of the three Graces, who were daughters of Zeus and Eurynome. Her other two sisters were Euphrosyne, and Thalia. Aglaia represented brightness and slendor.
Aglaia is also the name of the genus of over 100 species of the Meliaceae or mahogany family.
