  • Additional Info:
Admete is the name of two figures of Greek mythology. The name could mean "untamed" or "unsubdued" in Old Greek, perhaps also as a figure of speech for "unwedded".

Admete was the daughter of Eurystheus. Her father asked Heracles to acquire the belt of Hippolyte, queen of the Amazons, at her request. This was the ninth task of Heracles' Twelve Labors.
Admete was also the name of one of the Oceanides, the goddess Nymphs who presided over the sources of earth's fresh-water. She witnessed the abduction of Persephone by Hades.
