My husband loves the name Imelda (pronounced Emelda)(as in the prime ministers wife in the Phillipeans with all the shoes and Jewlery). I want to shorten it to Ella. Although, I was wondering if I should push to change the name or just attach a simple feminine name for a middle name. Thanks for any suggestions!!
Morgan
I would push to change the name........Or you could just do what my mom did and kick him out of the delivery room! LMAO just kidding.......My dad wanted to name me Maxine and my mom was so mad she kicked him out....THANK GOD!
I agree, I don't like it either. Try finding a name similar to Emelda, like, um...Amalia or Amelia. If you like it, go with it. Middle names... I can't think of any. A tradition I know of is to give your daughter the middle names or a middle name of her grandmothers'. Also, if you hate the name, and he is persistant, try writing her name on a piece of paper... to give to the nurse when the time comes... hehe.

how about Kalli..pronounced Kah-lee..it's a beautiful name and you can stick with what your husband wants for the middle name..kalli can also me spelled kali, kahlee, cally, callie or *kalli*..it means *most beautiful* in Greek..(great name for a baby girl)
I love unusual names.. but sweetheart, I have five kids and i know they would kill me if I gave them that name! No offense to your husband, but push to change the name!! For you daughters sake!
hmmm not too keen on the name, what about ellie, eve(my favourite)
,evie or eden... just wondering do u like traditional names or ones that are different?
i take it you know its a girl?
