TMI, I do have a friend who dates ONLY black men and she said it was for their ""size"". Not sure if that's a norm but that's her thing!
Haha that's like a girl a know, she has a patch on her back pack that says "Jungle Fever" .
To the OP, I live in a place where white people are a minority, in my highschool I knew 98% of the white kids in my school, there was 21 of us. I found that most of the time the interraccial couples are white women with black men, not the other way around. It's really taboo to be a white guy with a black girlfriend. Mostly because the girl gets alot of flack from the black community of how she's "fos"and "soff" to lower herself to be with a white guy.

This is interesting. It brings up a good point, one that hadn't occurred to me before (and I'm not sure why, 'cause now that I've thought of it, it seems obvious). The whole white guy & black girl thing not being as widely prevalent as the black guy & white girl thing has just as much to do with the girl's choice and preferences as the guy's. So far, and again I don't know why this is (perhaps the comments made by Bis and some others threw me off), I've been thinking about it in terms of why/how it turns out that white guys aren't as attracted to black women, but it has just as much to do with the opposite: why black girls/women may not want to be with a white guy.
But again, I think it oversimplifies things to look at this issue purely in terms of appearance, attraction and race. There are other social factors that come into play (as JulieBeth mentioned, 'taking flack' from friends), as well as that subtle, intangible thing I call chemistry, which has very little, if anything, to do with someone's appearance. Some people we "click" with, and some people we don't.
I know I'm a broken record on this, but it does not matter. Any of it. Period. Of course people may have to deal with the opinions of those around them, but by moral standards, love is love is love. My godmother is black and her husband is white, and both of their families are hugely supportive (read: not biggoted idiots). It frustrates me to no end that these kinds of things have to be discussed. Not that they are discussed, like here, because that's good - but that it's even an issue in the first place.
If it is a non-issue, then why post at all?
I was going to say something about black women maybe not be attracted to white guys, but I see it's already been mentioned. I find that generally white guys like girl's with more...boyish bodies. That sounds sick. What I mean is skinny girls with no curves, just straight. Now I know that the shape and size of a woman has little to nothing to do with their race, but idc. I live in a town with only 2 black people, some mexicans, and the rest are white. I have a slim body everywhere except my butt. It has always made me feel self-conscious because even the fat girls I knew had tiny butts. It took me a long time to realize their fat was on their stomachs and upper bodies while my stomach was flat. Anyways, the non-white woman I know don't make me feel fat. Keep in mind that I am using generalizations, stereotypes, and am not being pc.

What the heck are you rambling about?
First of all, if white men liked "boyish girls" then why do women in porn videos (which a lot of white men watch) get boob jobs and butt implants? Why would men look at the chest of a woman with big boobs instead of her face if he were really interested in flatchested boy-girls? Why would the cosmetic surgery industry make so much money on boob jobs? Because the women wanted back aches from having to heft around that extra weight?
And I have no idea what you're talking about with your big butt thing...are you saying that non-white women are fat? Particularly in their midsection? Honey, I would suggest that you buy a ticket to...anywhere and take a look around - there seems to be a whole big world out there full of people of different colors (and shapes and sizes) that you are missing!
Thanks for your replies guys, I do find it interesting that Fronka's figures and all of your own observations confirmed what I thought.
I realised that I hadn't posted my own opinion on this subject (not directly anyway)...SO here goes, personally I think it all goes back to status, as I mentioned in the quotation in my original post. Historically speaking black men and white women were equal, white men were the most powerful and black women, well, lets just say I wouldn't wanna be a black woman when England decided to go conquering.I think the reason that more relationships are BM/WW is is because our culture is based around patriarchy and the male ego. I noticed a lot of posts centred around what men found attractive, and the 'size' of black men. Perhaps it's just that we want to maintain the status quo and are unwilling to move from our social status positions.
Of course, perhaps their is love and chemistry and all that jazz, but shh i'm being cynical and hairy-legged feminist-y
oh, side note, to the do-gooders that proclaim this is non-issue (i'm sorry, that was harsh, this post is distracting me from my homework and i'm getting cranky that i can't type fast...) i'm afraid that it is. i wish that inter-racial marriage wasn't frowned upon and less frequent that all of us staying within groupings, but it IS. This topic was not supposed to be about whether inter-racial marriage is moral (which is a ridiculous question and not being disputed) but about the prevalance and race and gender composition of such relationships.
ps. what happens to the 'leftovers'...to be VERY non-PC and stoopid, don't we end up with an abundance of black women that haven't been married-off?? (I guess we've mostly talked caucasian and negro, maybe theirs left-overs in our other categories...i think i just lost any grain of respect for anything i've just said...i'll stop now )

Actually that is true. The whole Black man-white woman thing has been goin on for a while now, that it is more likely to be accpted (not all the time though) in the Black community. On the other hand most people aren't so accepting of black girls dating white guys, but I don't see why not. I know if I brought a white guy home I would get a few stares, not that my parents/friends wouldn't approve, but it's just something you rarely see go on.
^^ I've also noticed that the guy in that relationship gets crap from the black guys for stealing their women or something like that, I dunno it's weird.
