Is anyone else here German? I am 1/2 German, half French. Everytime someone asks what nationality I am and I say German, they ask stupid questions like "Oh, was your grandpa a Nazi?" or "Are you related to Hitler?". I mean, hello! Not every single German was a Nazi, and my last name isn't even Hitler! Does any one else have these problems?

I'm 1/4th Austrian through adption, and 1/4 Romanian through adoption. I can sing a song in German but have no idea what the words are, lol.
I was talking to a friend today and he was like "I hate it when people ask what my last name is because I'm like "It's Last", and they always go "How do you spell that?". How else can you spell 'Last'?!"
that kid names me laugh
I've had people say "You must be Christian then, eh?" after telling them my name is Kristin... that aways sucks 1) because I hate my name and 2) I'm not a big religion person

I'm 3/4 German and proud of it. I've visited Germany twice and I'm learning to speak German. I find it ridiculous that someone would assocaite a person of German ancestry with Nazis. I've never had anyone say that to me before.

I'm part German. You can't tell by looking at me though. Most people think I'm Mexican, but I'm not. People try to talk to me in Spanish all the time Even my English teacher asked me to translate something from Spanish to English.

The people at my school are so stupid sometimes, they don't even know where Germany is. Someone asked where Germany was today in class and I said "Don't you know?" and they said "Yeah, I think it's like an island in the Atlantic" .
I have only been to Germany once when I was a baby, that was to Struttburg. I go to France about every couple of summers, though. I am going this summer !
