Board Rules
Please read, follow, and respect them. Let’s maintain the wonderful community that we have here. By engaging in chats on our message forums you acknowledge that you understand our rules and agree to abide by them.
1. All-Caps: Please do not post using all capital letters.
2. Foul Language: Please refrain from using profanity in your posts.
3. Discrimination: Racial and religious slurs will not be tollerated.
4. Spam: Excessive, multiple posts (spam) is not allowed.
5. Trolling: Please do not create multiple usernames/accounts for the purpose of decieving others or "stirring the pot".
6. Advertising: Any advertising of products, merchandise, or other web sites is not allowed.
7. Flaming: Blatant personal attacks on fellow users will not be tollerated.
8. Personal Information: Never disclose your own, or other users', personal information on the board. Never post pictures you do not own or are copyrighted, or other's identifiable information.
9. Avatars & Signatures: Avatars, signatures and pictures, if posted, must adhere to site guidelines.
10. Deletions: Site Administrators and Moderators may delete posts in violation of these rules or ban users at their discretion.
1. All-Caps: Posting in all capital letters is not acceptable. It is considered yelling over the internet, and is very rude.
2. Foul Language: Please refrain from using foul language or profanity. Currently, the censors are relaxed, though we reserve the right to change this at any time without notice. For the words that are censored, please don't try to work around the censors. Let’s be respectful of the people who may not appreciate vulgar language. If at any point posts become too "adult " a private warning will be issued. If the vulgar language persists, we reserve the right to ban the offending individual and delete the offending post.
3. Discrimination: Racial comments or religion-bashing posts are NOT ALLOWED. We are all entitled to our own beliefs. Individuals that place such posts will be subject to banning. We are a baby names forum, and a friendly environment, let’s keep it that way.
4. Spam: Spam will not be tolerated. Spam includes posting the same topic across multiple forums, excessive off-topic posting, reposting locked topics or repeatedly starting similar threads.
5. Trolling: We won't tolerate the deliberate abuse of our site when it comes to users setting up multiple accounts/aliases in order to create fake scenarios for themselves. This will result in the username and/or IP being banned from this site.
6. Advertising: Please don't use these forums to try to sell something. This site is not a place for people to advertise products, sell items or promote other web sites. Part of the money that keeps this site up and running is generated by paid banner ads so other advertising is counter productive to the operation of this site. If you've started a topic with any such material please note that it may be edited or deleted by one of the moderators or Site Admin. We reserve the right to ban any members who repeatedly violate this rule.
Also, links to pictures or personal sites which you do not own or are authorized to share will be deleted. If you've started a topic with any such material please note that it may be edited or deleted by one of the moderators or Site Admin. We reserve the right to ban any members who repeatedly violate this rule.
7. Flaming: Quick call the fire department, I've been flamed!
Flaming is a personal attack on other citizens of cyberspace. A flame is the kind of message that doesn't attack your opinion, but your personality, your looks, your personal habits or your dog's behaviour. In other words flaming has a lot to do with emotional responses, and nothing to do with reasonable disagreement.
This doesn't mean that you can't disagree with people. It would be a very dull discussion if everybody agreed. In fact there would be no point in the discussion at all. But the golden rule is that if you disagree with someone you disagree with the content of their message, you don't descend into personal comments.
There are people who try to and start flame wars by posting flame bait, comments which are designed to start a fire or fan the flames (see Trolling). We suppose it gives them something to do, but really, they should get out more and stop wasting everyone's time.
If you read something that really makes you angry, resist the temptation to fire off an emotional response. Take a deep breath, go for a walk, put the message aside until tomorrow. Keep in mind that nobody ever changed his mind because someone called him a rude name.
If a discussion you are involved in turns into a flame war, you might want to think about how you can douse the flames. One of the best things you can do is to send a private message to a moderator. After that, the best thing you can do is simply stop being involved. If nobody replies the flamer has nothing to burn. Flames are not only unkind they are a waste of time and bandwidth. If nothing else, avoid fanning the fire.
This forum is intended for people who want to chat and be friendly. As in real life, people disagree, people argue, people may not like each other. This is fine, as long as you remember what we're all here for when all's said and done. Anyone who consistently causes trouble or who seems to be here for no other reason than to upset people and stir up bad feeling between members will be banned. The decision of the Site Admin is final. Remember - you don't have a legal right to be a member here. Abuse it, and you'll lose it.
8. Personal Information: Never give out other people's information that you may have obtained through a private message or from anywhere else. This includes: an individuals full name, address, telephone number, fax number, cell phone number, and even email address. If you have some important information that you feel you MUST share ask others to email you, or send them a private message via the IM option on the forums and share it with them that way.
Posting of personally identifiable information is NOT ALLOWED. See this link to see what constitutes personally identifiable information.
These forums are open to the public, so you never know who'll be reading your posts. Such inquiries and discussions are a clear violation of this rule and we reserve the right to ban any members who break it. NO EXCEPTIONS!
IPS and ISPS are only visible to the administrator and moderators. Please do NOT ask for such information. If you have a problem with a poster REPORT the problem to us and we will deal with it accordingly. Such inquiries and discussions are a clear violation of this rule and we reserve the right to ban any members who break it.
9. Avatars and Signatures: Please keep in mind only one ticker or image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 480 pixels, the height no greater than 100 pixels.
