They're usually just placeholders, until a parent can name the child.

I don't know of anyone with either name but, sadly, there will be someone. There are some strange people out there...and some terribly named kids

Bambina, Bambini, Bambino are names used for 'baby'.... Babe and Bebe are for 'baby' as well, but usually as a nickname... (Babe Ruth? Was that his real name?)

My Mom told me of a family trying hard to conceive. After many years they had a baby boy. Their last name was "Darling" and they actually named their child "Welcome" fn and "Baby" mn...
So, "Welcome Baby Darling" was the child's full name. He went by "W.B. Darling", and who's to blame him?

My grandpa's birth certificate listed his name as Baby Boy Lastname. His parents didn't decide on a name until after they left the hospital. They didn't bother changing the bc, and forgot about it until he applied for a passport 60 years later.

That is my 5 yr old daughter's nn. She had such a big head, & fat cheeks, & is very fair & blonde, She looked like a butter bean. It has pretty much been shortened to beanie now. Plus, there was a boxer on the Jack@$% movie named Butter Bean.
