the name Hanno? Pronounced h-AH-no. It is a German nickname for Johannes or Johan. Have also heard it as a given first name. Do you think it is too unusual for the US? DH is German and we'd like to have a name that is part of this heritage. If you do like it, what middle names do you think would go well with it?

Use a name from whatever culture has meaning for you - but as with any name I say stay away from nicknames as given names. It's good for a child to have something else to go by.
