I totally agree with you there. Chauncey is the kind of you name you would find at some rodeo ring in Tennessee! My close friend has a cousin named Chauncey who barrell races!

I dont think there is such thing as a "GHETTO" name , you really shoudnt classify names because everyone is from a diffrent background , im from D.C. , where most of the "hood" and "Ghetto" is told to be, and alot of times people make up names around where I live and those names which are made up are reffered to as "ghetto", so I dont really think this subject is suitable.

I have a cousin named Leroy and one named Tyrone. They are both old old men and white.

I always liked the name Forrest (except when Gump came out). I have a distant relative named that as well.

I think of Le-, De-, La-, and Da- in front of a normal, relatively normal, or made up name as being "ghetto." DeShawn, LeWanda, LaDonna, DeQuaya, etc. Faux French names drive me batty.

I also think of names like Princess, Urhighness, Speshelle, Preshess, Dutchesse, Uneek, and Nevaeh as being in this category.

Misspelled names fit too: Joddy (prn Jody), Tinna (prn Tinna), I can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I see this a lot here in Los Angeles.

To me the name LaDonna is the least ghetto you can get. It's my mothers name, and my mama is white, with blonde hair and blue eyes, she's not at all ghetto. Have you seen the movie Beauty Shop, she's like the southern chick, put her in the ghetto and she'd stick out like a sour thumb!
