I don't judge names on colors. It's all the same.

But if you want (Not sure if you're African) an African name, I'd suggest
Nala. "Successful" in African, "Olive" in Latin.

Hi!, I just want to give my two cents worth about this interesting debate about black and white names. Let me plese inform those that it is a fact that they are out there... black and white name that is. I'm 100% JAMAICAN and when going to high school my friends and I could tell what race a person was just by their names, so Stephanie, Betty, Sue and Nina (who was my friend) were white, while Nickesha (me), Chantal, Sitara and Machel were black. I'm of West Indian, Chinese and African-Jamaican descent and I know that a person's worth is decided on many things which has nothing whatsoever to do with a name, but it still is a fact that some people (those living in reality) do equate race with a certain name.

Regarding, strong black names for girls, here are a few:
Imega ( A combination of Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end)
Caribbean
Sitara
Abejay (ah-bee-jay)
Nicoy
Shale

I've always liked Maia, Keisha and Dajia. They are all strong but still feminine and aren't that odd that the child will be teased. I believe they are all considered African American names.

my name is sharonda and I dislikeit very much. My comment is to stick with a common but simple name, please no ghetto names. And what is a "white" name? That was a really racist comment. A name does not make a person white, black, latino or asian. its the person attached to the name that makes it what it is... Embarassed

One of my friends names is Erzsibet. Its Hungarian, unusuall, and very pretty. We call her Erzsi for short. Its pronounced Ahjeebet or Ahjee. Another lady I used to work with was named Infini, which is derived from the Epiphany, or the coming of the wise men.

I think Havilah is a beautiful name. It is a Hebrew name which is found in the bible. In the bible it is referenced as a place and a male's name. It had such a beautiful ring to it, I gave my daughter that name . In fact, she has a mixed origin of names.

Haviliah
Means "stretch of sand" in Hebrew. In the Old Testament this is both a place name and a masculine personal name.

Marie
Latinate form of MARY. This was the name of several queens of Portugal.

What the hell is a "white" name? Anything without an apostrophe?

I don't mean any harm Abebe or whatever your name is but no one meant any harm by saying "white"name..its just that most names that Caucasians have are not unusual and African Americans just as Hispanics has their own style in naming their children..and just to let you know apostrophes are not just used in African American names..so just think the next time before you reply all hostile and ignorant.
