I'm nor sure if you would be interested in this. But my name is very different and unique. The name is "Xochitl"
this is an Aztec Indian name from Mexico. It belonged to an Aztec Indian Princess and means Flower. I love my name, so I thought why not share it.

The name is pronounced "So-Cheel" (you have to through a Latin accent into it Wink )

I know a little girl who's father is black (from South Africa) and who's mother is Irish. They gave her the South African last name of Zola. I think it is beautiful and strong. It's also easy to say which is a plus if the last name is complicated.

I think the person who requested the name ideas was very clear about what she wants. She doesn't put down 'white' names. She just wants a strong, beautiful name that would identify the child as African American.

When I request Swedish names, I'm not 'dissing' names of other nationalities.

Typo. 'Zola' is the little girl's first name. Strong, confident. beautiful. Definitely an African name.

[my friend is havin a baby and we want a very strong first name and strong middle name becuz the baby's last name is kinda werid so we want a good name so she will be taken seriously. But we dont want it to have a white name (no offense) but my name is tiffani and i am jamaican and i hate it. so if yallz can help me and my friend out. thanx yall]

Thank you for asking this question. I came onto the message board because I’m looking for a character name for a baby that is of Jamaican origin. Although I am black, I wanted to get it right, and all you guys have given me some great names. Cheers!
Just as a PS: I found nothing wrong with the question and how it was phased. VitaminS/used phases and dialect that are familiar to her, why should she police her choice of words just to suit those who may have a more eloquent use of the English language, which by the way, can be quite staid and painfully boring.

I hope Tiffani finds a good name for her baby girl – xx Very Happy
I have a book called Beyond Jennifer and Jason,Madison and Montana and in that book it has a section on African-American names. Hope these help you.

West African Day names
Girls
Sunday-- Quasheba
Monday--Juba
Tuesday--Beneba
Wednesday-- Cuba
Thursday--Abba
Friday-- Phebe/Phibbi
Saturday--Mimba
Boys
Sunday
-- Quashee
Monday--Cudjoe
Tuesday-- Cubbenah
Wednesday-- Quaco
Thursday--Quao
Friday-- Cuff/Cuffe

Well I won't write the whole ten pages of names that they have but I thought that these were kind of neat.

Good Luck!
