Hi everyone, I'm getting married next month and I am panicking!
I am panicking one that I'm realizing I'm tying myself down to one person my whole life and two that I have so much left to do for it.
Can anyone help me with advice, wedding stories, suggestions/help with decisions?
I'm getting married to Damien in Hawaii, I don't have a dress a hairstyle, I do have a vague idea about the other peoples (including Damien's) outfits and the flowers, but time is running out and I've been procrastinating!
HELP!
Oh on an happier note, would anyone like if I shared the picture(s) of Damien proposing to me, and our engagement photo? I would like to post them, but not sure how.
Secondly, you shouldn't look at getting married as "tying yourself down" to one person. A marriage/wedding should be viewed as a happy thing! You should be happy to spend your life with that one special person. If you are having doubts or feel like you aren't sure that you want to spend the rest of your life with that person, then I suggest rethinking your wedding/marriage!
Lastly, why on earth have you not planned anything if you are getting married in only a month?????? How long have you been engaged? How long have you had the date set?
Anyway, we need to know more about your story in order to give any advice. What kind of wedding do you want? Where are you getting married (church, courthouse, outdoors, ect...)? How much money do you want to spend on this wedding?
I think you need to work out the whole "tying yourself to one person thing" before you start picking out hairstyles.
If you are getting married in a month and have no dress, your engagement can't have been very long. Maybe it would be a good idea to reschedule things so you have a longer engagement.
If you decide to go through with it, you are going to have a hard time finding a dress- most take several months to come in. David's Bridal, J crew and Ann Taylor may be your only options.
Sorry, I didn't post any details because I wasn't sure if anyone would care enough...
No I have planned stuff, just not everything, it's hard when I'm in Kansas and the wedding and the fiance is in Hawaii.
I've only been engaged a month, but we have been together almost seven years. We want to be married before the baby gets here in September, and the only month Damien can get off work is March, so we are getting married and then honeymooning the rest of the month. Plus our wedding date is the day we starting dating
As the other thing, the nerves, I believe I just have cold feet along with a tiny bit of panic over everything happening so fast. I do want it, I just wanted to know if this little panic (and it's very little, mostly excitement) is normal, if anyone else felt it.
I will write a new post with what I've already planned if thats ok with everyone. I just guess I wanted ideas, from what you all did at your weddings, if you're married, if not, then what you will/would do if you were going to get married.
I think those are normal feelings to have before getting married as long as they are not the predominate feelings.
As for the dress, do you want fromal, informal, short, long, how much do you want to spend, ect. As someone previously mentioned, you're probably stuck with places like David's Bridal at this point. It took 4 months to get my wedding dress in once I ordered it.
Have you sent out invitations? How many people are coming since this is out of town? It is probably to late to work with a florist so you'll have to do the decorations yourself or have a family member or friend do them.
Have you considered waiting until after the baby is born? This is stressing ME out and I'm not the one in this situation!
Another idea, have a private wedding ceremony with just close family in Hawaii and then have a large reception later with friends and worry about flowers, cake, decorations, ect. then!
We are doing a very casual outside wedding, the preacher has already been chosen.
I have narrowed it down to three dresses from a David's Bridal boutique here, these are the ones I like best out of the ones they already have my size of. Here's their links if you would like to insert an opinion. I want something casual, not much fuss, and strapless.
Flowers well I'm doing minimal flowers just my bouquet the maid of honor's and maybe an arch. I want colorful flowers, I'm getting that in Hawaii. I want yellows pinks purples blues, a bunch of colors.
It will be a very casual wedding, my maid of honor is my sister. She is wearing a plain white gown already bought. Here is the link to it...
The flower girls are my neices and they have little matching dresses that are white with a teal sash.
The men and boys are all wearing white dress shirts and khakis.
I'd like my dog to be part of it too. I think I'd like pearls, and my hair down, curled and a bit "beach tousled" for lack of a better expression.
(I hope it's ok I included the links to the dresses...and I am asking advice from my own friends and family, just would like to know what other people on the web had to say.

I didn't mean to stress you out! Sorry! Already decided on David's Bridal, but that's ok, I love their dresses and they have a few in stock in my size.
Everyone elses clothes are already bought. Invitations have been sent out, but his family is all in Hawaii except for a sister who is flying in from out of country. In my family there are only seven people, very small, both parents were only children, their cousins aren't close to us, and I have a sister and a brother, and three neices and a nephew. I'm the first to get married, and the youngest.
Damien knows someone who does flowers in Hawaii so I'm going to choose flowers when I go there to finalize everything.
Cake...well...that is something that will be homemade by Damien's mom. Not too happy about that but she volunteered for free and otherwise I wouldn't be able to get a cake probably. Minimal decorations, white chairs for people to sit, christmas lights for when it gets dark. Thinking of doing an archway to stand under while taking vows...is that cool or cheesy? Food is going to be catered in...and made by Damien's family.
Oh ok! I'm a little stressed out, but for some reason, just mainly excited. Damien and his family are doing alot, and he comes see me on most weekends, and I make descisions then. If he has to make any without me being there, he sends me pic messages on our phones. I'm just hoping the cake and flowers turn out ok. Thanks for the vote on the dress, I am going in next week to make a final decision, I'm thinking of one of the flowier ones, seeings that I will be an additional month pregnant when I get married...does anyone know if my tummy will grow much from now until then (the second to the third month-I will be three months when I get married.) Should I get one a bit bigger than now, in case my tummy will get bigger, or will there be any real change by the third month.I suppose I can just look it up on the internet, I should have asked my doctor, but I forgot.
Even if I am nervous about everything, the main thing is that I'm marrying the man I love right?
